Apollo’s Hegemony PQQ is a dietary supplement containing 20 mg of pyrroloquinoline quinone disodium salt – a substance similar to a vitamin classified to the group of cofactors of redox reactions with strong antioxidant effect.

PQQ, also known as methoxatin, works on the mitochondrial level, exhibiting very strong antioxidant effect. It is reflected in very positive influence on the nervous system, cognitive functions and slowing down bio- and neurodegenerative processes. Limiting harmful activity of free radicals also decreases the risk of developing many civilization diseases, such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s diseases. Apart from this, the substance positively influences the functioning of the cardiovascular system.

It indistinguishably resembles vitamin in its structure, however, it does not fulfill all key requirements necessary to classify it to this category. PQQ therefore belongs to the group of semi-vitamins. It plays the role of a cofactor – ensures proper enzymatic activity. As a bioactive enzyme, it exhibits unusual durability – it is able to perform thousands of antioxidant activities without being subjected to molecular breakdown process.

Research confirms that PQQ is an even a few thousand times more effective factor of redox processes (reducing oxidation) than popularly applied ascorbic acid (vitamin C). It also exhibits much more pro-health properties than traditionally used antioxidants.

Pyrroloquinoline quinone is not synthesized by the human organism, which means that it needs to be provided exogenously. PQQ naturally occurs in kiwi fruit, green tea or parsley, however, often in the amounts insufficient to ensure its proper supply. To achieve a therapeutic effect, it is necessary to provide the dose of min. 20 mg of a substance, which is enabled by the presented supplement in an easy way.

Oxidative stress is the state of the lack of balance between the activity of reactive oxygen forms and biological activity of quick detoxification or repair of damages. The process of oxidation leads to the creation of free radicals, the activity of which promotes disorders in the functioning of various organism’s systems and may lead to serious ailments. Apart from this, the processes of organism’s aging are dependent on the proper activity of mitochondria.
